Map Styles

We actually added support for themes, however we only have 2 options at the moment. The Default or Greyscale.

These styles can get really involved, so we were thinking of implementing preset themes. However that wouldn't necessarily correlate to your specific needs.

What about a way to paste in the JSON code for a custom designed theme? Would that work? You could then use the Google Styler to build the design and generate the code: mapstyle.withgoogle.com/

Yes, we are building this into our next release! We also like snazzymaps.com/ too so lots of good possibilities there.

This has now been incorporated into our latest release, now available. We include 10 Predefined may themes, as well as the ability to add you own Custom theme.

Custom Map Themes - You can now choose one of the existing predefined themes or you can specify your own theme.

To set your own theme, choose Map Theme: Custom and then edit the json file found in your Joomla Root /components/storelocator/assets/themes/custom.json.

This file should follow Google Map API Specifications for custom map styles found here: Google Maps API Style Reference .

We reccomend using a third party serice to design your own compatible map theme code and past it into the file such as Sanzzy Maps or the Google Style Wizard.
