Language support was created by kenmcmahon
Hi,

I'm developing a multi-lingual site and need the map display with address locations in two languages. I've searched the forum and seen lots of posts about creating a new language file, which is fine for the UI elements but I need the content i.e the text in the location fields to display in the correct language. What's the best way to do that?

Thanks

Ken

If you are using Joomla 1.5/2.5 we suggest Joom!Fish, if you use Joomla 3.x use Farlang. Both are compatible with our extension.

I created duplicate content in English and Chinese and tagged them English and Chinese respectively, then used the tags to display the appropriate content on English and Chinese menus. Sorry I can't explain in more detail but this was a while ago now.

What i ask is simply.
2 store locators....
Adding content to 1 store and other content in the second store.
what is the way to accomplish this?

When you say content, do you mean different locations or different text on the interface?

when site is in one language, location names, category names and tag names must be in this language.
changing the language, location names, category names, tag names, must be in the other language.
if i had 2 store locators i would edit the same location, tag and category in one language and i would instert in the second locator the same long-lang but in the new language from category, name and tag.
if this can happen without having 2 store locators, one for each language it would be great,.

Any how we wish to display name locations tags and categories in two languages depending on which language the visitor has chosen.

You'll want to use FaLang for this purpose... its a separate 3rd party Language component.

www.faboba.com/en/composants/falang/presentation.html

We fully Support FaLang and it will provide the ability to do the translations on the Database entries.

You will also want the Store Locator Plugin for FaLang:
