How do I get map to display on initial load?

When I access the module, I only get a Search Location and Radius option, which is correct, however, I'd like to show the Map as well, so the users understand they are searching for locations. I know, it sounds elementary, but you know users…

This worked fine on another site with the previous version of Store Locator




We would prefer it to look more like this
