Store Locator visible in Article Edit page was created by bmains

Hello,

The company I work for purchased the component "Store Locator" for Joomla from your company. I am trying to have it open by a button or show up on the right side on the "Article Edit" page in order for our client to enter the information in one place instead of going to two different locations. Is that possible? If so where in the Joomla site would I need to do the custom code change?

Hi Brian,

Are you talking about managing the locations or searching for them from the front-end?

To manage/add locations this can currently only be done via the admin area from Components -> Store Locator.

To search for locations on the front end, the best way would be to add a new menu item and set the type to the Store Locator -> Map Layout.

You can also use the module on the front end to allow people to search from other pages. They would then be directed to the menu item for the map layout.

On the back end/as an administrator I have a client that just wants to edit the "store locator" from the same place they edit/create the article in the article manager. I would need some type of custom button added to the article editor so when they click on it a pop-up window would appear with the "store locator" information that they could add.

Basically the client doesn't want to go to more than one place to edit the article, and create the "store locator" information as well.

I hope that helps clearing up what I would need.

The store locator does not support editing a location from within a Joomla article. I assume you would like to associate a location to an article? This may be something we support in the future but currently we do not.
