Optimizing for mobile and enabling reviews

Optimizing for mobile and enabling reviews was created by csanfilippo
Hello,

I am using a responsive template that adapts to the viewers device.
The store locator page is the only page displaying strangely on my mobile phone (Samsung Galaxy SIII).
Do you have any suggestions on how to optimize the store locator for mobile phones?
I understand I can change the dimensions of the map, but I don't want to reduce the maps current size because I want it to be large for desktops.

Also, is there anyway that I could enable visitors to place reviews on the store locations? Perhaps through Google, or Facebook... Or, if not, is it possible to import the reviews somehow?

Thanks! :)

Hi,

First, we are working on a responsive design for our next big release. We will try to have that out soon. That should address your issues, but in the meantime feel free to play around with the design.

we have no front-end interface at the moment, but you could add them to the description field, or you can add a link to them.

It's been a little bit over a year since I've started using this extension and it has served us well even though it is a workaround for a website that is using a proprietary CMS and not joomla.

We were hoping for a responsive design being implemented rather soon and I see you've already done an upgrade and responsiveness was not one of the things being upgraded.

Do you have an estimated time frame in which this is going to happen? even if it's just a rough one it will give me an idea whether I should convince my client to make the move to Joomla!

Cheers!

The v1.8.1.0 Release was the final set of features we had in the pipeline for the current branch. Now that that has been released, we can put our full efforts at the next release which will be responsive, and support Joomla 2.5/3.0. However it will no longer support Joomla 1.5/1.6/1.7.

We expect this to be out in the next couple of weeks.

It makes perfect sense to drop the support for joomla 1.5.

Two weeks :) wow! looking forward to that!

We are releasing a responsive update for 3.x this week to fix some issues we have head about from the community... Now that thats ironed out, we will look to add Responsive templates to the 2.5 release soon, however we cannot give an exact date as we dont know when it is yet.
