Question on using this module 1 Year, 7 Months ago
I'm just getting started trying to use the module. I may be doing something "stupid", but I can't get it to serve ads. I have a question on your instruction below:

Enter the URL of your OpenX invocation header script. You generate invocation code for a single page call at the website level, rather than at the zone level. From your OpenX Admin area, in the Websites & Zones -> Website properties -> Invocation Code Tab. Choose your options and click Generate. Retrieve the src URL of the JavaScript Header Script.

I am able to "generate the invocation code". It then says retrieve the src URL of the JavaScript ... The code is shown below. Is the URL I'm supposed to enter into your module d1.openx.org/spcjs.php?id=8547 ?

<!-- Generated by OpenX 2.8.5-rc7 -->
<script type='text/javascript' src='d1.openx.org/spcjs.php?id=8547'></script>

I can't seem to get it to generate ads. Any more detailed help would be much appreciated.

Hi kross76,

That url looks to be correct. Are you still having issues? If you send me the a url with the module being used i can take a look at whats going on for you...

Thanks

OK, I think I've got your module serving ads from OpenX now (I think I had a typo). My next question is really understanding the benefit and how to use the single page call? Right now, it's serving a single ad from a single module into a single position. If I want to use this for multiple positions, do I basically duplicate the module and use one for each position? And what is it's benefit over something like OpenXPlus.

One issue we're trying to solve is prohibiting having duplicate ads on the same page.

Thanks again in advance.

Hey,

You can easily duplicate the module and use it for each ad position. The module automatically detects if another module exists, and will only add the javascript code once instead of for each module.

This module is mostly useful when there are multiple ads on one page, thus saving load time and processing required for each ad. Normally OpenX renders individual JavaScript for each ad which appears unique and thus causes the browser to download the same script multiple times.

Thanks,
Jared

Thanks. OpenX has parameter to prohibit duplicate ads on the same page. Does your module handle this situation also?

That's all handled via OpenX so it should still be supported.
