Description
Sysgen Media is looking for some skilled website developers. We're a small business startup located in Northport, NY that's in the process of expanding. Our focus at Sysgen Media is mainly on website design, website hosting, and hosted solutions. We have designed and created websites ranging in complexity from simple html and PHP to fully functional e-commerce and other back-end administrated solutions. The position is full-time and on site in our office in Northport, NY.
The Web Developer is responsible for working with customers and designers to build custom
websites and web applications. This includes PHP and Database programming, HTML, JS and CSS coding, assisting in QA and testing, publishing of sites and applications. The candidate may also assist in providing back-up design support
when needed. You'll be joining a team that is creative, focused on results, works together to solve problems, and is committed to developing people.
Requirements:
* PHP and SQL programming and debugging
* HTML / JS / CSS coding and development
* .NET, ASP, Ruby on Rails, and AJAX a plus
* API Integration into existing systems
* Analyze and document user requirements
* Maintain and update new and existing customer websites
* Stay upto date with current web technologis and conventions
* Collaborate with other team members and cross-functional units to ensure quality
* Ability to write, debug and test scripting languages like Javascript and Actionscript is required
* Must be able to plan and develop websites and other projects from concept through completion
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasksEducation & Experience
* BA/BS Degree or related experience in a technical field required
* 2+ years in professional web development a huge plus
Web Designer
Description
This role will require a combination of graphic design skills and technical knowledge of how web pages are created, being responsible for the layout, visual appearance and usability of the resultant websites. Responsibilities include implementing various front-end web development projects and coordinating with developers to create robust SEO friendly web sites for clients. Strong CSS skills and experience working with various platforms and browsers (Windows, Mac, IE, Firefox, etc.) are a must. You'll be joining a team that is creative, focused on results, works together to solve problems, and is committed to developing people. The position is full-time and on site in our office in Northport, NY.
Requirements:
* Proficency in Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver a must
* HTML / JS / CSS coding and development a must
* Some knowledge of PHP programming required
* HTML page creation from raw design files
* Flash and AJAX experience a plus
* Experience with CMS systems such as Joomla and Wordpress
* Maintain and update new and existing customer websites
* Stay upto date with current web technologis and conventions
* Collaborate with other team members and cross-functional units to ensure quality
* Must be able to plan and design websites and other projects from concept through completion
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks
Education & Experience
* BA/BS Degree or related experience in a design field required
* 2+ years in professional design a requirement
